We ordered the $5.67 Gucci bear-print tee, bench-measured the print and hems, audited the seams under a 10x loupe, then logged two wear days and one cold rinse. The graphic held its position; the sizing evidence did not.

- Hands-on score
- 4.0 / 5
- Editor verdict
- A light, slim $5.67 print tee whose bear graphic held its position through our wear days and a cold rinse. Sizing runs small with no published flat measurements, so order from the seller's numbers, not the letter on the tag.

What our $5.67 bought
We ordered the Gucci Black T-Shirt with Bear Print (SKU 7718731454) through our usual agent flow and logged the parcel the day it reached the bench. The tee landed in a plain poly bag with no hangtag and no size sticker on the outside — the only size marking was the neck label. The listed price at the time of our order was $5.67, down from $6.01, with availability marked in stock.
The garment is a pullover with a round neck, short sleeves and no hood, cut slim through the chest and waist. Our size-L sample weighed 148 g on the 5 kg kitchen scale, inside the listing's stated 180 g-or-under fabric band. Fibre content is listed as polyester under the fabric trade name "milk silk" — a fine polyester knit, not a silk blend, despite what the name suggests.
Grey-card photos and the bench numbers
Before any wear, we photographed the tee against the grey wall with our colour card in frame, then measured it flat with a tape and calipers. Those numbers are one sample, not a specification: the listing itself publishes no flat measurements at all.
| Measurement | Our size-L sample |
|---|---|
| Chest, flat (pit to pit) | 49 cm |
| Body length (high point shoulder to hem) | 68 cm |
| Shoulder width | 44 cm |
| Bear print block (width x height) | 25 cm x 29 cm |
| Top of print below collar seam | 7.5 cm |
| Base of print above hem | 8 cm |
| Neck rib height | 2.2 cm |
| Garment weight | 148 g |
Two things stood out. First, the print is centred to within roughly 3 mm of the shoulder-to-shoulder midpoint on our sample. Second, the shoulders and upper arms are noticeably narrow for a labelled L, which matches the "slim" correction in the listing copy rather than a standard relaxed cut.
The 10x loupe pass
Our inspection routine is the same one we use on uppers and panel seams: a 10x loupe along every join, checking glue lines, stitching and panel alignment before we call anything a defect.
- Side seams: four-thread overlock, stitch density even end to end, no skipped stitches or dropped loops on either side.
- Hem and cuffs: double-folded hem, twin-needle cover stitch, no waviness after the first wash. One loose thread tail at the left cuff, trimmed rather than locked.
- Neckline: rib attached with a cover stitch over shoulder taping, no puckering where the rib meets the body panel.
- Print: edges slightly soft on the bear outline, with light dot texture visible at the outline under magnification. No bridging, no cracking, no ink bleed into the black ground.
Nothing on the sample rose to the level of a defect. The finish is what we expect from a blank at this price, not from a garment with Gucci's retail pricing attached.
Two wear days, one cold rinse
We logged two 18-hour wear days — one indoor desk day, one warm outdoor day — then hand-rinsed the tee cold and dried it flat. After the rinse, the bear graphic had not lifted, changed tone or shifted off centre, and the neck rib returned to its measured 2.2 cm. The black ground showed no visible bleed.
That is one rinse on one sample, and it does not settle the larger risk. Chinese media reporting documented a buyer whose Gucci tee lost sleeve colour after a single water wash, and print-care guidance is straightforward:
Printed designs are generally not suited to dry cleaning or machine washing and can peel or crack after washing.
Category discussion of rep Gucci tees also notes that blank quality varies between production batches, so the hand-feel of the next run is not guaranteed by this one.
Sizing is the real decision
With no flat chest or length numbers published for this SKU, the letter on the neck label is the only guidance a buyer gets — and the category evidence points the wrong way. Gucci T-shirts are widely reported to run small, rep buyers are routinely advised to size up, and one side-by-side comparison matched a rep small against a retail medium.
Our 49 cm flat chest on a size L supports the small-running pattern. If you buy, ask the seller for flat chest and body length in the size you intend and size from those figures. The M–5XL run means the top end exists; it does not mean the grading is linear.
One blank, ten prints
The colourways split across white and black bases with five graphics each: a male head portrait, a necklace cross, a hand holding a hook, Donald Duck and the GU bear we tested. All ten share the same blank, the same slim cut and the same M–5XL run, so variation between them is print, not fit. Ask for QC photos of the specific colourway before ordering — with five graphics on two grounds, that photo is the only way to confirm which print you are buying.
What we could not confirm
- No item-level buyer claims exist for SKU 7718731454. The sizing, weight and wash evidence behind this review is category-level.
- Fabric weight is a known rep question: authentic Gucci tees have been reported near 100 g while some reps exceed 300 g. Our sample is at the light end, but one unit is not a batch average.
- Long-term print durability past a single rinse is unverified, as is consistency across future production runs.
How the score was reached
We scored the garment on the evidence we could stand behind: the measured sample, the loupe pass, the wear days and the rinse, weighed against an unpublished size chart and unresolved batch risk. That lands at 4 out of 5 — good, with a clear caution on sizing rather than on build.
